Keshav Rao Baliram Hedgewar Introduction -
The founder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, "Dr. Keshav Rao Baliram Hedgewar" (Keshav Baliram Hedgewar) was born on 1 April 1889 in a poor Brahmin family of Nagpur. He was of revolutionary instinct since childhood, he studied his tenth from the National School of Pune and after that when he went to Kolkata for his doctoral studies in 1910, he joined the famous revolutionary institution Anushilan Samiti at that time.
Hedgewar's contribution to India's independence
On his return to Nagpur in 1915, he became active in the Congress and later became the secretary of the Vidarbha Provincial Congress. When the Congress held a country-level session in Nagpur in 1920, Dr. Keshav Rao Baliram Hedgewar (Keshav Baliram Hedgewar) first proposed a resolution for complete independence in the Congress, then it was not passed. In 1921, Satyagraha was arrested in the non-cooperation movement of the Congress and he was imprisoned for one year. By then he had become so popular that veterans like Pandit Motilal Nehru and Hakim Ajmal Kha were addressed to the gathering organized to welcome him upon his release.
How did the idea of RSS come to Dr. Hedgewar's mind?
Muslim communalism started raising its head only after Gandhi's arrival on India's political scene in 1922 AD. The Khilafat movement was supported by Gandhi ji - Hindu and Muslim riots started in Nagpur and many other places and some Hindu leaders of Nagpur understood that only Hindu unity could protect them. In such a situation, many Hindu leaders went to Malabar-Kerala to know the state of Kerala and to help the looted Hindus there, among them prominent Hindu Mahasabhai leader of Nagpur, Dr. Balkrishna Shivram Munje, Dr. Hedgewar, Arya Samaj leader Swami Shraddhanand ji etc. After a while, there were Hindu-Muslim riots in Nagpur and many other cities too. Distracted by such incidents, Dr. Munje in Nagpur has made some famous Called a meeting of Hindu leaders, including Dr. Hedgewar and Dr. Paranjpe, in this meeting they decided to make a Hindu-Militia, the aim was to "protect Hindus and make Hindustan a strong Hindu nation". Dharmveer Dr. Munje gave the responsibility of doing this to Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar.
Dr. Sahab was such a person, who developed new ways to enhance the capabilities of the person. However, keeping in mind the unsuccessful revolution and erstwhile circumstances of the first Indian independence struggle, he laid the foundation of a paramilitary organization. Thus, on 28/9/1925 (Vijayadashami Day), his father-like guru, Dr. Balakrishna Shivram Munje, his disciples Dr. Hedgewar, Mr. Paranjpe and Bapu Sahib Soni laid the foundation of a Hindu youth club, which was later called the National Self-Serviceman. To create such a militia, volunteers were recruited, branches were started for one hour each morning and evening. In order to run it smoothly, posts of teachers, head teachers, organizers etc. were created, along with exercises, physical labor, education of Hindu nationalism in these branches, it was decided to give military education to senior volunteers, later on. Sometimes during the night there were seminars of volunteers, including Maharana Pratap, Veer Shivaji, Guru Govind Singh, Banda Bairagi, Veer Savarkar, Mangal Pandey, Tantya Tope etc. Biographies were also read, parts of the book (Hindutva) composed by Veer Savarkar were also read.

Even after the introduction of the RSS on Vijayadashami in 1925, his attitude towards Congress and revolutionaries was positive, that is why in December 1930, when the anti-salt law movement was launched by Mahatma Gandhi, he also had the responsibility of the RSS chief (Sarsangh Chalak). Submitted to Dr. Parapanje and personally participated with a dozen of his colleagues, in which he was imprisoned for 9 months, similarly in 1929 when Lah In the Congress session held in Su, the proposal of former Swaraj was passed and on 26 January 1930 called for hoisting the tricolor across the country, then on the instructions of Dr. Keshav Rao Baliram Hedgewar, hoisted the tricolor on January 30 in all Sangh branches. It was resolved to attain complete swaraj.
In the same way, his relationship with revolutionaries continued. When Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev absconded after the assassination of Deputy Captain Saunders in Lahore in 1928, Rajguru reached Dr. Hedgewar Dr. Keshav Rao Baliram Hedgewar in Nagpur during Ferrari who had a prominent association in Umred.
